André Grahle is assistant professor (akademischer Rat a. Z.) at LMU Munich since 2015. His research and teaching focuses on ethics, moral psychology, and political and social philosophy. As well as finishing a book on ideals, admiration and meaningfulness in life, he is currently engaging with questions related to the ethics of giving and receiving testimony in contexts of refugee arrival.

Before coming to Munich, André was a a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Osnabrück. In 2014 he earned a PhD in philosophy from the University of St Andrews with a thesis on the normativity of personal ideals. In autumn 2011 he was a visiting scholar at Rutgers University. André holds an M.Litt in Philosophy from St Andrews and an M.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Göttingen, both obtained in 2009. He spent most of his time as an undergraduate at Göttingen, but also studied for a year each at St Andrews and Vienna.
